Early Morning Cravings (All Because Of Chef B's Recipes)

I woke up at 5:45am early today with a sudden craving for waffles. It seems like my mind is restless these days (lots of things happening in Dubai!), ideas and tummy cravings come in late at night or super early in the morning.

But I guess what really triggered this is too much of my Instagram browsing, especially I'm following an Emirati food expert, Chef B ,  and his consecutive posts about the waffle recipes he is creating in partnership with Hilton Garden Inn for their first birthday!

Just look at what he have prepared which suits the pancakes I made earlier: Arabic Coffee  Meringues with Strawberries and Nutella!

I only have a pancake mix and a jar of Nutella on hand when I woke up today but I'm trying to recreate Chef B's recipe (you will definitely see my work soon because I just got a new hand mixer that I'm excited to open, follow my Instastories for the unboxing!). It's really easy to make and you can do it on your own. Here's the step by step guide he shared on his Instagram too:

Ingredients:

2 egg whites

1/2 cup caster sugar

2tsp hot water

- 2tsp Arabic coffee granules

Method:

1- Dissolve the coffee granules in the hot water. Set aside.

2- Whip up the egg whites on high heat. Once they're frothy, gradually add the sugar.

3- When they hit soft peaks, pour in the coffee and whip till stiff peaks form.

4- Pipe mini meringues on a baking tray lined with wax paper.

5- Bake at 120C for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the meringues dry out and harden.

These meringues can also be paired with pancakes and is good for early morning breakfast, it will get you out of bed in no time with the scent of Arabic coffee that adds up to its flavour.
